The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is exploring AirAsia India after one of its pilots Gaurav Taneja was suspended in the wake of calling attention to the supposed infringement of well-being standards by the minimal-effort aircraft.
On June 14, Taneja tweeted that he had been suspended via AirAsia India “for defending safe tasks of an airplane and its travelers”.
The following day, he posted a point-by-point video on his mainstream YouTube channel, called Flying Beast, named “Purposes for suspension from my pilot work”.
In the video, Taneja claimed the carrier has requested that its pilots do 98 percent of arrivals in “Fold 3” mode, which permits it to spare fuel. He said if a pilot doesn’t do 98 percent of arrivals in “Fold 3” mode, the carrier thinks of it as an infringement of its standard working technique (SOP).
Folds are a piece of wings of an airplane and they are locked in to make a drag during an arrival or a take-off.
The video has collected more than 3 million perspectives and more than 60,000 remarks, generally valuing the pilot for his turn.
